Conversation Design at the BBC
In 2020 I worked on Beeb – a public service voice assistant the BBC was hoping to launch. This was a pioneering project. As I led the research into the gender of the voice and worked as the lead UX designer on the main user interface, the persona, I spoke about the work at this online event for the University of Edinburgh.
Designing for the future at the BBC
Working as part of the Emerging Experiences team, we introduced the public to the concept of a ‘data pod’. Our goal was to embed the idea into an existing experience without derailing the audiences’ enjoyment. By collaborating with the designers on the team we overcame a number of challenges by designing, testing and iterating. This video (from 20m 20s in) tells the story of some of those challenges.
Transforming the colleague experience at Co-op
When the user research showed that 80% of our colleagues couldn’t easily access the intranet I was part of the team that changed that.
